The 3 Simple Steps To Create The 2019 Of Your Dreams
Note: This post was originally published in 2019. While the year has passed, the principles and steps outlined remain timeless and applicable to any year.
Personally, I feel 2019 is filled with magic, wonder, excitement, and a lot of incredible growth! I am so excited!

From a numerology perspective, 2019 is what they call a '3 year,' which means good things are on the horizon… Yay! I have decided, therefore, to gift you 3 Steps to guide you in beginning this new, amazing year ahead.
Each new year, I speak to envisioning and creating the best year for yourself. The end of a year/beginning of a new year is such an interesting time, as everyone is in this state of panic- ot only is it nearly Christmas, but the year is almost at an end, and potentially the list of New Year's Resolutions has not quite been completed- if at all. Suddenly, there begins the creation of elaborate new resolutions that usually revolve around exercise and weight loss. My view on resolutions and creating a wondrous new year (and life) for yourself is, instead, to create a vision of the person or life you wish to become or have.
Step 1- Dream Big and Brainstorm All You’d Love to Experience
By getting in now (a little early), we can spend some time envisioning the coming year and how you want your year to turn out. That way, you actually BEGIN the year prepared, with your beautiful vision in mind, ready to go!
Right now, you have just over 2 weeks to contemplate your year ahead… Start thinking and holding a vision now about how you want next year to unfold. Create a space for yourself (yes, even in this chaotic time of year- this is important!), and begin to brainstorm in a relaxed way… What do you want to experience? What would you like to accomplish? Who/what kind of person do you want to be? Be as creative and adventurous as your heart desires…. You may list words or statements- whatever flows for you.
Step 2- Choose 3 Power Words
With your brainstorming page(s) at hand, put the various words/statements you have written into 3 main categories/headings (as best as possible). From this, you will be able to create 3 Power Words to focus on.
These don’t have to be your only focus. Just decide the three most important things that you want to accomplish, and that will leave you feeling super connected, empowered, transformed, fulfilled and, well, let’s face it- happy- at the end of 2019, once these words become your reality.
These words can be related to any area of your life- your own personal growth, and/or perhaps involve a permanent, positive change in habit, the creation of something new… whatever you envision that will make the greatest growth and difference for you.
On this note, however, as I mentioned above; one of my greatest concerns around “New Year's Resolutions” is that people frequently focus on changing or ceasing habits and behaviors that usually require giving up something you enjoy or pressuring you into achieving potentially unrealistic outcomes; which, in turn, result in eventual failure and subsequent self-depreciation, overwhelm, and guilt. An example might be; “I want to lose weight” (which essentially means I need to give up sugar, carbs, alcohol, anything yummy (maybe even try one of those fad lemon cleanses); and exercise daily; while running a household, working, and trying to maintain some sort of social life. This sounds exhausting, stressful, overwhelming, and honestly, most likely (without serious planning, preparation, and organization) unachievable.
A potentially better resolution is “I want to be fit and healthy.” This helps you to make better choices in that rather than having strict rules about what you need to do to “lose weight,” the mindset is more positive in that you can ask yourself “Will this behavior help me to feel fit and healthy?”- the pressure is less intense. If you do it anyway and it’s not, the choice is a conscious one and you deal with it, learn from it, and grow from it, working out how to make a better choice next time.
The concept of Power Words has another focus… Rather than looking at your resolution “I want to be fit and healthy” as behaviors you need to “do” to achieve it; by having a ‘Power Word,’ “HEALTHY” for example… you BE healthy! As in you live and come from a ‘space’ of health, and the focus and mindset is different again… From this space- from coming from a space of BEING- you can then create and manifest the life you desire.
Step 3- Create a Vision Board
Once you have your 3 Power Words, you can then create a vision board to reflect these. Vision boards are a powerful tool to help you see and feel your goals and dreams daily, keeping you inspired and motivated.
To create your vision board:
Gather Materials: Collect magazines, images, quotes, and any other materials that resonate with your Power Words and goals.
Assemble Your Board: Arrange your collected materials on a board in a way that inspires you. There’s no right or wrong way- just what feels right for you.
Display It Prominently: Place your vision board somewhere you will see it daily to keep your intentions at the forefront of your mind.
By following these 3 simple steps, you are setting yourself up to create the 2019 of your dreams. Remember, the power lies within you to manifest the life you desire. Embrace it, believe it, and take inspired action towards it.
